teacher perk

Cappucino from Murphy's.  Fav ATL brunch spot.
You know what the best part of being a teacher is?
CHRISTMAS BREAK.
(Okay, maybe not the best part, because there is that whole 'educating children to be world citizens and make an impact on society' thing, which I also enjoy.)

It's like being a college kid again, except the loans aren't raking in and I have a large stack of papers to grade and unit plans to write.

Regardless, I am excited to finish up Christmas shopping and galavant while drinking coffee with new friends (obviously).

Here's to Christmas-y goodness.  And much more time for blog posts and picture-taking. :)

small snaps.

Hi friends. I had a great, great weekend.  A "happy list" weekend.
I've decided to call these "small snaps" because they're photos and they're, well, small.  This is what happens when you Instagram your weekend. :)

1. Best friend, Jamie, came to visit from Nashville.  Can you say "Girls' Weekend"?  We spent two days waltzing in and out of Atlanta's ridiculously cute boutiques and sampling some of my favorite Hotlanta cuisine.

2. Saturday morning consisted of Jiffy Pancakes and homemade mixed berry sauce by yours truly.  I'm not one to toot my horn, but...they were quite delish.

3. My sweet, sweet Mem & Pop (also know as "grandparents") passed through town for tons of puppy love and one scrumptious latte.

4. Their pups make my heart melt.  In fact, all pups make my heart melt these days.

Amidst all crazy schedules and relentless to-do lists, spending time with friends and family is always just want I needed.

love at first pedal.

And the kid in me is alive again.

I have a new bike.  But it's not just any old bike.
It's an ocean blue bike. And it looks like an antique. (The grandma in me loves this, duh.)
My newest, most favoritest toy is complete with a coffee cup holder and a rack for toting the latest delectable treasures from Trader Joe's.

I will only allow ONE test drive.

Pefect for cafe en la bicicleta.

Blurryness, iphone photo. SORRY!

Now, I feel like THIS all of the time.
:)

Stay tuned for pictures of this beaut complete with a latte and bouquet of flowers.  I don't even care how cliché that is.

Oh hai, ATL.

Reasons why I'm falling in love with Virginia Highlands/Midtown, Atlanta:

1. Coffee shops. Tons.
And some are even dog-friendly.  This will be important when we someday get our dream pup. :)
(1.5. These coffee shops also serve wine, ales and hipster beer. Delightfully strange.)
2. Flowering trees, as far as the eye can see.
3. People are ridiculously stylish. Hello, Jason Mraz hats.
4. Sunshine all da time.
5. Froyo? Everywhere.
It's an epidemic and I've fallen victim. (Froyo = frozen yogurt, btw).
6. Billions of restuarants(veg-friendly too, I might add).
I don't think we'll possibly be able to try them all.
7. King of Pops.
Amazing creative popsicles. Awesome flavors like chocolate sea salt, tangerine basil & coconut lemongrass. Love.
